You must have RealPlayer® software to hear the Passport to Texas programming. This software plays both RealAudio® and RealVideo®. It's free and available over the Internet.

To see if you have a RealPlayer® on your system, click on this yellow icon to Hear Today's Program. If you get an error message, then read on . . .

Begin by doing a "Find File" search for "RealAudio®" or "RealPlayer®" to make sure you don't already have the software on your hard drive. It may be on your system, but not installed. If this is the case, open the RealPlayer® folder and follow the instructions for installation. If you do not have the RealPlayer®, then click on the icon at left to go to the www.real.com website.

Once you are on the website look for the link to download the newest FREE RealPlayer®. (FYI: The real.com homepage for MACs and PC's have different designs.)

If you use a PC, look for the link for the FREE RealOne Player®. The most recent location of the link was in a gray bar in the center of the page. If you use a Mac, you'll need to download the RealPlayer® Basic 8. The link to download the FREE player is currently located in the bottom left hand corner of the page.

(Note: The RealPlayer® Plus offers more features but currently costs $29.95. Also...the $9.95 offer you see on the PC website is a MONTHLY charge for a variety of services. Don't purchase this thinking it is a sale price for the RealPlayer® Plus!)

After clicking on the RealPlayer® link, you will be asked to complete a form. You will need to provide your email address and your computer's model and platform. You will also need to make sure you have adequate ram on your system. Continue to follow the prompts and consider printing the provided instructions for reference.

You may want to visit the Real.com Help site before you begin to make certain your system can support the RealPlayer® software.

NOTE: If you are directed at any time to create a new folder on your computer, do not use a forward slash "/" anywhere in the name of your folder, as the RealPlayerŽ software cannot read a slash.

You can check to see if the RealPlayer® works by clicking on the yellow RealAudio® icon located in the column to the left or on our homepage www.passporttotexas.com.

Our Listening Library contains more than 1000 RealAudio® programs organized by topic. Once you are in a section of the Library, simply click on a title to automatically activate the RealPlayer®.

TIP: If you get an error message when you click on an icon or program link, you have not properly installed the RealPlayer® on your computer--or your free player has expired. If some program links work and others don't, this may be a RealPlayer® problem. Just download the newest version of the RealPlayer®. Once you download a new player, be sure to "clear your cache" or "delete history."
